The pool boy was specially written by Arnon Grunberg MatchBoox, illustrated by Nanne Meulendijks. The pool boy is for anyone with a heart and goes on the wealthy versus immigrant workers, in Grunbergiaans cynical open end.
Arnon Grunberg (1971) is a novelist. At the age of 23 he made his debut with Blue Mondays. The book became an international success and won the Anton Wachter Prize for best debut and the Golden Ezelsoor for the best-selling debut. The Foundation CPNB invited Grunberg to write Cloisonne 1998. In addition to novels Grunberg writes columns and reports. Since March 2010 he has a daily column 'Footnote' on the front page of the newspaper. Additionally Grunberg is also a columnist for Freedom Netherlands, the human rights magazine Being Persecuted, the VPRO Guide and Humo. He is a regular contributor to NRC Handelsblad and VPRO radio. He lives and works in New York.
Nanne Meulendijks independent artist and as an illustrator in a short time reached the summit of the Netherlands. Meulendijks work is in the national newspapers NRC Handelsblad and NRC Next, AD, Trouw and De Volkskrant. She also works for children Lannoo.
