Bert Wagendorp (1956) studied Dutch in Groningen. Started as a copywriter in advertising, he became a sports reporter at the Leeuwarden Courant. In 1988 he moved to De Volkskrant. For which newspaper he regularly beat the Tour de France and was a correspondent in London. In 2013 he released his novel 'Ventoux', an outright best seller.
