The Halifax was bought by the British Government in 1768 and was a key schooner at the landing of troops in Boston (1775). She is best known because it in 1776 (the year of the American Revolution) command led by the fire of Falmouth, New Portland in Maine. After this, the entire east coast of America stood up against the British.
