Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) is the motorsports division, established in 1982 by the Japanese company Honda, and is the successor to Honda's Racing Service Center (RSC). The company combines participation in motor sport with the development of racing machines. The company comes with its own team in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing under the name Repsol Honda Team.
The 2002 season marked a turning point for the team. The new racing series MotoGP solved the 500cc class and off Valentino Rossi was appointed as the new driver. Along with Tohru Ukawa Rossi had access to the new Honda RC211V. At the end of the season were the other two drivers of the team, Alex Barros and Daijiro Kato decision on the new material. Rossi dominated the championship, won eleven wins and four races before the end of the season he could call himself the first world MotoGP.
