At the beginning of World War II Britain had little war material and therefore many vehicles were ordered urgently. To maintain the connections between the different parts, minor changes were made to civilian motorcycles (such as military colors and holders for bags). The motorcycle couriers were known as the "Dispatch Riders". Triumph has developed in a short time from the civilian model "Tiger 80" military version 3HW, with an engine with overhead camshaft and valves and a parallel fork. This model was used on all fronts where British forces were active.
