The second ship in the King George V-class battleship was the HMS Prince of Wales along with the HMS Hood hunt the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen. After the loss of the Hood on May 24, 1941 fired the already heavily battered Prince of Wales for veered away, several volleys at the Bismarck, thereby partially unmanageable. After his transfer to the Far East was the Prince of Wales eventually attacked by Japanese aircraft units on December 10, 1941 and sunk.
